Obsessive compulsive disorder or OCD is known as a psychological condition that relates to stress and anxiety. Patients with this disorder often indulge themselves in performing ritualistic acts after acknowledging some intrusive thoughts. The anxiety OCD victims develop is based on the dread that a bad thing is going to happen soon and to get rid of this anxiety these victims get forced to perform some time consuming and irrational behaviors for it.

There are nearly two to three percent diagnosed OCD cases, however, there can be a significantly higher number of undiagnosed cases as most of the victim of this disorder don’t want to get some professional help for this condition.

The victims of this disorder try to hide their obsessive behaviors from others, as they do not want to look odd from others. If some undiagnosed sufferer does not realize the condition, s/he may scold in frustration the way they are acting or thinking. Patients with OCD appear paranoid and they appear psychotic to others and the victim of this condition can also recognize his/her thoughts and action useless and that’s what makes this illness so distressing and it is often quite a painful experience. The challenge these victims have to face in to learn managing their odd behaviors without others reassurance.

In the US every one out of 50 adults are suffering from this condition. “Obsessive-compulsive has become a part of daily use English language and it is named to all those who are perfectionistic, meticulous or absorbed in some case. Though most of these signs are found in an OCD sufferer, yet those who have these signs are not always the victim of this condition and these people can have another kind of disorder which is known as obsessive compulsive personality disorder or OCDP.
