“Literature and butterflies are two sweetest passions known to men,” when the words begin to dance on imagination floor, whatever surfaces on pages or tongue is known as literature.

Poetry, drama, fiction, criticism or other written works that have permanent and important artistic value are known collectively as literature. Similarly, the body of written works of some culture, people, language or a time period is also known as literature i.e. Russian literature. Printed material that provides information, as flyers or brochures are also called literature.

The term literature often describes spoken and or written material, and in a broader sense, this term is used to give description of anything from creative writing to some scientific or technical works, but most of the time this term is used to describe or refer to works that are based on creative imagination that include poetry, fiction, drama as well as some nonfiction works.

Literature often serves as representative of a language, culture, tradition or people of some particular group. We often get introduced with the new worlds of experiences because when we go through particular literature. Plays, stories, tragedies and comedies often seem to give new directions to our thoughts and ideas, and they also prove quite helpful to make us aware of our outer as well as inner world.
