What is Learning

This item was filled under Education

When we acquire new knowledge, skills, behaviors, values, understanding or preferences, we acquire all that by passing through the learning process. They are not only humans who possess learning ability, as some machines, animals and some other objects also have the ability to learn things.

In humans, personal development and education make them learn and acquire knowledge that they utilize in their daily lives to make the most of them. Pedagogy, educational psychology, neuropsychology and learning theory are often tending to know the way learning occurs. When passing through a learning process, we usually unintentionally strengthen, shape and organize our brains.

Humans can be called learning machines, as their brains capture the experiences from the day they born or even before. These human learning machines are driven by the brains that consisted of billions of nerve cells. All these cells have the ability to connect with others and they serve as nuts and bolts in the machine of learning.

Results of a recent study indicate that the way our brains actively engage in learning with the passage of time in our lives, it affects as we age.

Different people think differently about learning and have their own meanings for it. A large number of people think that learning is associated to the attempts one makes to create a memory that can really last. Our brains have to encode and store information whenever we need to master some new dance steps, learn other languages or remember the name of acquaintances.

It’s a well known saying that the more we learn, the more we forget, and this is the process which keeps going throughout our lives. It’s easier to learn new things, but it is always difficult to retain this learning for long.
